Texas Hill CountryLast weekend’s LBJ 100 Bicycle Tour through Texas Hill Country began a series of exciting summer events surrounding the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. “A Ride to Preserve History” kicked off from the Lyndon Baines Johnson National Historic Park in Stonewall Texas. The Ninth Annual LBJ 100 included scenic routes along our bucolic country roads and fields of wildflowers.

Lyndon Baines Johnson was the 36th president of the United States. He loved his Texas ranch in Johnson City. The National Historic Park in nearby Stonewall is a tribute to his legacy. About 2000 cyclists started finished and at the LBJ Ranch airstrip. 10 miles to 62 miles, passing majestic live oak, historic landmarks in Gillespie and Blanco.  In addition, LBJ’s daughter Lucy Johnson gave a guided bicycle tour around the LBJ Ranch.
