Successful Fredericksburg Texas B & B Income-Producing Property

In its charming country splendor, Fredericksburg Texas real estate is home to some of the most inviting inns and bed & breakfast establishments in the nation.  Rather than hotels and motels, tourists and other Texas visitors seek out B&Bs, in what are usually gorgeous restored cottages and homes in Fredericksburg.  These beautiful, income producing Hill Country properties simultaneously offer their property owners a high-quality lifestyle.

One stands out in the crowd today.  Recently, Fox News named Settlers Crossing B&B Fredericksburg TX real estate as one of the Top 10 Wine Country Inns in the United States.  Settlers Crossing is located a few minutes from downtown Fredericksburg, and about an hour from Austin and San Antonio.

Operated by David and Melissa Estes, the 35-acre Fredericksburg Texas bed and breakfast is a collection of seven private historic guesthouses.  The homes feature unique 18th and 19th century country antiques, which capture life in days gone by.  The cozy living areas feature wood-burning fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs, wonderful patios, and perfect ambience Nestled in the towering oak trees, rolling pastures, and flower gardens, Settlers Creek meanders through the properties.  Children always enjoy visiting the donkey Briny, the flock of sheep, and free-roaming native deer.

The Indiana House, Von Heinrich Home, Kusenberger Log Cabin, Pioneer Log Cabin, Kusenberger Barn, Baag Farm House, and Bohl Log Cabin offer returning guests completely unique atmospheres.  The Indiana House (circa 1849) was moved from Indiana and reconstructed with a 1790 log barn and arbor, the Von Heinrich (circa 1787) from Pennsylvania, and the Bohl Cabin (circa 1850) from Missouri.  Native settlers built the Kusenberger log cabin and barn.  Four generations of Texans lived in the log and rock Pioneer Log Cabin (circa 1865). The Baag Farm House was built as a wedding present.

Settlers Crossing has also been named by Travel & Leisure Magazine as “One of America’s Top 10 Bed & Breakfast.”  Country Living Magazine called it “The compound of historic guesthouses near Fredericksburg, Texas, transports visitors to the 19th century.”  Family Calls It “One of America’s 10 Great Country Escapes.”

Country Home Describes Settlers Crossing.  “To Cross the Stone Bridge and Glimpsed 18th Century Structures, with wooly Russian Romanov sheep grazing on the lawns, is to enter a bygone era of horse-drawn buggies and skirts.”  Country In chimes in, “The quaint houses dotting one’s and pastures are true to their regional past yet well-cushioned for the 20th century travelers.”

The guesthouses can be rented for two people or a group.  Rates range from $125-$195 per house with discounted rates Sunday through Thursday.
