Toe Tapping in Old Luckenbach Texas near Fredericksburg Homes

Around Fredericksburg Texas Hill Country homes, it is customary to now and again pull on some cowboy boots and yer best duds and head over to Luckenbach to dance away the night.  Last Saturday at 8:00 p.m., Jason Eady celebrated Thanksgiving with us at the old Luckenbach Dancehall.  Residents from around Gillespie County’s Fredericksburg TX real estate and guests—some from far off Texas lands in Austin and San Antonio—kicked up their heels and tapped their toes to some mighty fine southern soul music.

The Mississippi native played timeless tunes with all of the vigor captured on his latest album, “when the Money’s all Gone,” complete with southern gospel stomps and New Orleans soul.  Advertising for the album describes the songs as sound from the voice of a sage poet that’s made it through the storm to see the other side.  It was produced by songwriter Kevin Welch.

Famous Luckenbach Dancehall and ten surrounding acres of Texas property are available for rent.  There is a patio and campfire.  When the historic Luckenbach Dancehall is open, so is the General Store, Post Office, and Beer Joint.  You see, Luckenbach comes alive to the music.  It is ideal for weddings, receptions, anniversaries, birthdays, meetings, reunions, and parties of all sorts.  Whether people want catered BBQ, Mexican, or gore-may meals, dance bands or a soloist, the Luckenbach Texas Party Perfesshunals help with all of the details.

Matter of fact, USA Today lists Luckenbach Dancehall in Texas on its 100 Best U.S. Wedding Destinations anywhere.  The criteria included a picturesque setting, of course.  Then, the 100 Best Wedding Destinations required a comprehensive range of vendors and our Fredericksburg restaurants, vendors, and shops have it all!  Fredericksburg also offers the most romantic Bed & Breakfast establishments and plenty of lodging for all guests.

We have wedding-planning services and Fredericksburg and Luckenbach are both easy to reach.  And activities!  Fredericksburg and Texas Hill Country offer scenic drives, wine trail, museums, natural attractions like Enchanted Rock State Park, Johnson National Park, Lady Bird Johnson Park, the Pedernales and Guadalupe Rivers and lots of recreation available before and after the wedding for every friend and family member who comes to the wedding festivities.  Author Kathryn Gabriel Loving suggests out of town weddings as less expensive and simpler.

Old Luckenbach is definitely “out of town.”  It is 13 miles from Fredericksburg and has only three residents.
