Thanksgiving Buzz & Fredericksburg Texas Hill Country Homes

Hill Country holidays lure searching homebuyers to Fredericksburg TX homes, Texas ranches and land, and vacation real estate in the surrounding Hill Country communities.  Our festive Thanksgiving weekend events near Fredericksburg TX real estate, as well as wonderful events from Johnson City to Kerrville to Boerne, offer just the right atmosphere for buyers and their families to imagine retirement homes, Texas hunting properties, investment and vacation homes in Texas Hill Country.

Many Hill Country communities deck out for the holidays, making evening drives from primary residences in Austin and San Antonio homes all the more special.  Begin looking at Fredericksburg homes for sale during the 5th annual TAFC Thanksgiving Invitational Arts and Crafts Show held in the historic Marktplatz in the heart of downtown.  Renowned artists from Texas and outside of Texas will showcase new works.  The Fredericksburg Art Gallery also holds the Contemporary Masters Invitational Art Show & Sale.

Tonight at 6:30 p.m. is the official lighting of the Blanco County Courthouse in Johnson City and kicks off Lights, Spectacular, and Hill Country Style when over 100,000 lights dazzle the community for a full month.  There will be fireworks, hayrides, and live band music.  In addition, there is the Chuck Wagon Food Court and The Garden Club selling ornaments and handmade crafts at the courthouse.  And listen for those Hill Country Pickers!

This weekend at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds, The Peddler Show offers unique shopping for personalized designed, unique jewelry and other special gifts.  Handmade items from Texas and Hill Country artists and craftspeople are also sold at Gifts from the Heart Craft Show.  While you’re here, take in a comedy at the Night Rockbox Theater Live or another one of our live theater performances.

Top it off with the old-fashioned Christmas market at Christmas in The Vineyards sponsored by the Becker Vineyards and Lavender Farm.  Families can drip by the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm on Saturday from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. to decorate cookies in the German tradition for tree decorations, make wreaths and candles.  Over in Kerrville, the 11th annual Texas Furniture Makers Show will be in full gear, offering custom crafted furniture by award-winning furniture makers at the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center.

Hill Country communities from New Braunfels and Dripping Springs to Llano and Marble Falls, and Boerne to Gruene continue lightening up the darkest part of the year with a welcoming holiday spirit.
