Fredericksburg Real Estate
|
Fredericksburg real estate is located approximately an hour northwest of metropolitan amenities in San Antonio and west of Austin TX homes, an easy weekend getaway for families in those cities. Home to 11,000 residents, the charming small town with its big German heritage also offers plentiful opportunities for getting involved in community life. Volunteering with the Historical Society, schools, and civic activities and organizations offers ways to connect socially as well.
A wonderfully restored downtown Historic District, which bustles with activity during every season, is visited annually by thousands of visitors. Well-maintained century old homes in a variety of architectures are now quaint Bed & Breakfast establishments. Excellent restaurants, boutique shopping, excellent museums, wineries, and lively festivities such as Oktoberfest keep Texans coming back for more. Shopping and medical facilities are right here.
One-hundred eighty-six desirable wooded tracts grace the streets of Heritage Hill Country. Nice landscaping blends unique brick and limestone exteriors. Many homes boast large front porches. Some overlook the creek. Square footages range from 1,550 to 2,400. Prices on the resale market are $200,000 to $350,000.
Situated on the outskirts of the town, the 60-acre gated community features extensive landscaping with nature trails meandering through the forests, past creeks and koi ponds. A gorgeous 5,500-square-foot clubhouse is the community hub. Residents avail themselves of its great room with fireplace, fitness center, library, computer center, and the large kitchen with dining areas for parties and special events.
As far as outside recreation goes, there are a couple of golf courses in the town and several in outlying Hill Country areas. Other recreational adventures are not too far away. They offer unlimited hiking and biking trails along with bird watching areas and wildlife viewing. The Enchanted Rock, Lost Maples, Hill Country and Honey Creek state natural areas; Pedernales Falls, South Llano River, Guadalupe River and Garner state parks; and Kerrville Shreiner and Flatrock parks are within an hour's drive.
