Downtown San Antonio Texas real estate is somewhat defined by and easily accessible to Interstate 35 to the north and west, Interstate 37 to the east, and Interstate 10 to the south.  The central business district and numerous historically important districts are located in downtown San Antonio TX real estate.  Downtown, the array of historic San Antonio TX homes and businesses contrast sharply with contemporary hi-rise residential options and tall office buildings in the central area of the city.

Residents and businesses thrive in the spicy mix of downtown real estate in San Antonio.  San Antonio TX real estate is an architectural study.  Blue skies backdrop all buildings, from the historic Anton Wulff House and the Emily Morgan Hotel, Houston Street, the Cathedral of San Fernando, Tower Life building and Tower of the Americas to the modern Marriot Rivercenter, The Weston Centre, and Hilton Palacio del Rio.

Within the Central Business District is the Rivercenter Mall with over 100 stores, 21 restaurants, 3 movie theaters, and the Rivercenter Comedy Club.  It is the site of the 1887 Joske's, a five-level Art Deco flagship department store.  Another dominant building in restoration is the six-story San Antonio Post Office and Courthouse, a neoclassical, Beaux-Arts design from 1937.

In alphabetical order, the downtown districts include the Alamo District, Alamodome District, Central Business District, Convention Center District, Eastbourough, and Historic Civic District, Houston Street District, King William Historic District, Lavaca District, and La Villita District.  They continue with Market Square District, North Downtown, River North District, San Antonio CO-OP District, River Bend district, South Flores Warehouse District, SoSo (South of Southtown), Southtown, and the University District.  Each district contains its own centerpiece and flavor.

Numerous conventions and year-round festivities enliven the downtown area.  Millions of visitors flock to see attractions such as the Alamo, Riverwalk, and Tower of the Americas and to attend events such as the Night in Old San Antonio that celebrates Cinco de Mayo.  Parades celebrating everything from NBA sports teams to Christmas draw crowds.

Families living in the area enjoy easy access to the San Antonio Public Library on Soledad Street and schools operated by the San Antonio Independent School District.  In lieu of mountains, children can readily find their way home by the direction of the towering buildings or the Tower of the Americas, skyline compasses that are always available.  For more information about real estate, investment properties or Hill Country, click here to contact Dale Cook or call 830-997-1035.
