The many possibilities of San Antonio TX homes for sale offer buyers a glove-like fit, all depending on tastes and employments needs.  San Antonio TX real estate comes in an eclectic variety of styles, eras, architectures, sizes, and price points in parts of the city.  Homes in Downtown San Antonio, Alamo Heights, Midtown, Uptown, Alamo Heights, North Central, Far North Central, Northeast, East Side, Southtown and King William, West, Far West, and Northwest San Antonio offer homebuyers a wide range of choices.

At the center of the city of 1.35 million people, Downtown is popular for tourists and those people who serve in the tourist industry.  It is home to the Alamo, Riverwalk, Tower of the Americas, Rivercenter Mall, and numerous other interesting destinations.  One of the wealthier neighborhoods is located about two miles north of downtown in Alamo Heights and Mahncke Park near the San Antonio Country Club and Japanese Tea Gardens.

With styles from Victorian to French, to Neoclassical and Italian Renaissance, the historic Midtown area features a variety of working-class homes in Beacon Hill, the newer Five Points, and upper middle-class options in Monte Vista.  Ask about Tobin Hill, Alta Vista, University Hill, and Trinity Heights here near Trinity University.

Uptown Broadway features established bedroom communities in parts of Alamo Heights, Olmos Park, Lincoln Heights, and Terrell Hills as well as high-rise residential buildings and trendy boutiques near the University of the Incarnate Word and the McNay Art and Witte museums.  Uptown offers a plethora of retail and office spaces.  The North Central area includes San Antonio Co-op District, Castle Hills, Hill Country Village, Hollywood Park.  More upscale neighborhoods include Elm Creek, Inwood, Rogers Ranch, and Bentley Manor.  Many of San Antonio's most luxurious homes are further North Central in Scenic Oaks,
Sonterra, and Stone Oaks.

On the Northeast side, near Randolph Air Force Base, are affordable homes along with great shopping at The Forum.  On the East Side, accenting a lively African America culture, are the Saint Paul Square, Alamodome, and San Antonio Rodeo.  Windercrest to the northeast is known for extravagant holiday lights and China Grove on U.S. 87 is referred to in a popular song.

Southtown and King Williams are located south of downtown.  They include extensive National Historic Districts, warehouse district, and loft conversions at Blue Star.  Texas Monthly Magazine labeled this the most eccentric neighborhood in Texas.  The diverse community enjoys art, good food, Victorian homes, and many creative endeavors and festivals.

The Mexican and Tejano cultures are showcased on the West side, site of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower, the historic Our Lady of the Lake University, and St. Mary's University.  The historic Prospect Hill neighborhood is part of the original 36 square miles of the city.  Modest smaller homes are common in this area.

One of the fastest growing areas is the Far West side, much of it outside city limits.  Many military families relocate here where homes are affordable.  Several large new stores, Christus Santa Rosa Westover Hills Hospital, and the new master-planned community of Alamo Ranch are in this area.  The South Texas Medical Center, University of Texas at San Antonio, corporate headquarters, and suburban retail centers are located in the Northwest portion of the city.  Prestigious neighborhoods of The Dominion, Shavano Park, and Camp Bullis are in this area.
