Real Austin TX homes in diverse neighborhoods reflect the inner rhythm and soul of the people.  Austinites take pride in their unique blend of music, galleries, museums, restaurants, shops, and nightlife.  With a median age of 30, the vibrant mix of residents energizes the economy and keeps the housing affordable.  Austin TX homes for sale have a median price under $200,000.

Who are the people that spark the creative spirit of the "Live Music Capital of the World"?  Residents of Austin TX real estate include students, professors, musicians, artists, entrepreneurs, hi-tech as well as growing number of Fortune 500 companies.  There are also quite a substantial number of white-and blue-collar workers.

Austinites like to be out-and-about seeing and being-seen.  Whether rubbing elbows at eateries or in the blogosphere, this crowd knows how to network.  They take great Texan pride in extolling all things new and different.  Some call Austinites eccentric, others "independent thinkers."  Regardless of the label, the cultural creative is right at home in the city full of entrepreneurs, artists, actors, musicians, filmmakers, chefs, writers, small shopkeepers, history buffs, and connoisseurs.  They blend into the harmonic of the casual southern footprint.

The personality of parts of the city diverges from any other city in the world.  Austinites know how to have fun.  Who else would host the O. Henry Pun Off, Eeyore's Birthday Party, Spamarama, Reggae Festival, Carnaval Brasileiro, Pecan Street Festival, Trail of Lights, South by Southwest, and Art City?  One stroll through the SoCo shopping district (South Congress) to eateries, shops, and festivals underscores the uniqueness.

From nightclubs on 6th Street, to the crowning event at the three-day Austin City Limits Music Festival, the "Live Music Capitol of the World" has more music venues per resident than any city in the world.  Together Austin City Limits and C3 produce the annual City Limits Festival at Zilker Park.  Other big music events are Urban Music Festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest, and the Old Settlers Music Festival that started with a century ago with the Austin Symphony Orchestra.

Austin City Limits is the longest-running concert music program on American television.  It is filmed at the University of Texas at Austin.  Both the festival and the television show attract musical artists from nations around the world.

Closely linked to music, the film industry is taking off, partly due to programs at UT.  In 2004, Moviemaker Magazine put the city in the Top Ten Cities to Live and Make Movies.  Many well-known movies, videos, and MTV shows are produced here.  The Austin Film Society transformed an old airport into a filmmaking studio.  Additionally, two internationally known film-review websites are located in the city.

Developing actors within the strong theater culture is ongoing.  With literally dozens of traveling and resident companies producing plays, the city hosts several performance theater venues.  Public art and performances in the parks and on bridges offer a diverse array of free productions.  During the spring, the Fuse Box Festival features international, leading-edge theater artists.

The long list of creative options for residents and visitors continues with Ballet Austin, Austin Lyric Opera, comedy venues, museums, a variety of eating establishments.  For more information, click here to contact Dale Cook or call 830-997-1035.
