Fredericksburg Texas real estate, organized in the mid 1850s by independent-thinking German immigrants, features a classy variety of historic Fredericksburg TX homes, an integral Downtown Fredericksburg Historic District, and a collection of Recorded Texas Historic Landmarks (RTHL).

The Fredericksburg Historic District coincides with the original plan for Fredericksburg real estate as platted by Herman Wilke.  Today, it encompasses the famous boutiques, restaurants, and galleries of Fredericksburg commercial real estate on and near Main Street, as well as Fredericksburg homes, B&Bs, and museums.  Schubert Street is the northern boundary, Elk Street on the east, Creek Street on the south, and Acorn Street is on the west edge.

On October 14, 1970, the Fredericksburg Historic District, with its astounding number of 367 contributing buildings, joined the National Register of Historic Places in Texas. Fortunately, an overwhelming majority of the large estate homes in Fredericksburg now serve the international community as heart-warming bed and breakfast establishments.  Completely restored, these unique and inviting homes offer a comfortable entrance into yesteryear.

For example, in the heart of the city, the historic Haussegen Bed and Breakfast and Guesthouse provides lodging for travelers coming through Texas Hill Country.  At Southern Charm Lodging on West Austin Street, visitors experience an elegant Victorian suite with large living room w/fireplace.  A few blocks from Main Street on Sunday Circle, A Place in Time B & B is a romantic 1914 Historic Traditional Bed & Breakfast.  The Magnolia House Hill Country pampers guests at in the comfortable elegance of a 1923 historic residence.  The list goes on, offering visitors to the community of 10,000 hundreds of one-of-a-kind, first-class accommodations.

Gillespie County includes 14 Texas Historic Landmarks.  In addition to the Fredericksburg Historic District, the nine others within Fredericksburg include five schools, Fort Martin Scott, Fredericksburg Memorial Library, and a Japanese Midget Submarine.  The Texas Historical Commission awards this honor to “historically and architecturally significant properties.”  They must be at least 50 years old and possess photographic documentation of authenticity.

SAGE - Premium Texas Real Estate can help buyers and investors find historic Fredericksburg TX homes and real estate to convert into B&Bs.  Property owners also like to use historic buildings as part of their larger estate homes, homes updated with today's modern features.
