Marble Falls TX homes are located in Burnet County, 13 miles southeast of Burnet at the intersection of U.S. 281 and F.R. 1431.  Texas Hill Country homes along the banks of Lake Marble Falls and the Colorado River offer a mix of rural lifestyle with proximity to amenities in Austin and San Antonio.

Homes in Marble Falls proper span six square miles.  With a half square mile of water, there are many affordable lake homes ($250,000) in the heart of Hill Country along the banks of Lake Marble Falls.  Many residents of Austin TX homes have only 45 miles to arrive at their weekend getaway in Marble Falls.  Likewise, people readily leave primary residences in San Antonio TX real estate to vacation in second homes situated here in Texas Hill Country real estate.

Historically known for country music and cowboy food, Marble Falls features relaxing water sports, rolling terrain, vibrant wildflowers, vineyards, and award-winning cuisine for 6,500 residents and thousands more who live within five miles of the prospering Hill Country city.  Recreation includes swimming, boating, fishing, golf, camping, hiking, hunting, sightseeing, and picnicking in city parks located along the lakes.

The small city is the hub of Highland Lakes, the largest chain of lakes in the state.  As such, it is a destination point.  Shops ranging from gift and antique stores to big-box stores, auto dealers and services are available in the community.  A regional medical center serves the populace.  There are plenty of great restaurants but Texas Monthly Magazine found the best breakfast in Texas at the Blue Bonnet Cafe.

In 1854, Adam Rankin Johnson first envisioned harnessing the immense hydroelectricity of the river and eventually assisted in establishing the town.  Lake Marble Falls was created when they dammed the Colorado River.  It became more of a recreational haven than a manufacturing center.  It sits between Lake LBJ to the north and Lake Travis to the south.  Before the dam, falls of marble were always visible.  Today, the real marble falls are underwater except when maintenance crews lower the lake.

Granite Mountain, a huge igneous batholith, looms on the western edge of the growing community.  The Texas State Capitol, Galveston Seawall, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport display samples of the pink granite from Granite Mountain within their construction.
