A variety of Fredericksburg TX homes ranges from gorgeous country estates to historic downtown Fredericksburg TX real estate to simple vacation homes.  Over 300 bed & breakfasts dot the region.  However, the Fredericksburg properties are only one unique feature of the area.

Why are visitors enchanted with this small community that calls itself the gateway to Texas Hill Country?  A comfortable community of about 10,000 residents, Fredericksburg boasts a vibrant history.  Its extensive list of historical markers combines with a menu of popular events.  There is always something to see and do.

Numerous historic buildings and interesting venues flock the downtown Historic District.  It is great fun to shop Main Street (Hauptstrasse).  Museums and old buildings and churches provide fascinating architectural studies.  From unique Sunday Houses, old vacation homes with loft sleeping only accessible from outside to the fountain honoring a civic leader, the community determined to preserve its heritage.

Interesting places to see include Settlers Crossing Bed & Breakfast, Vereins-Kirche Museum, Nimitz Museum, The Bavarian Inn, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Zion Lutheran Church, Pioneer Church, Pioneer Village Museum, George Bush Gallery, and Fort Martin Scotts outside of the city.

Home to an award-winning brewpub, the community is located in the center of the wine industry in Central Texas.  In fact, it is a common home base for tourists visiting the wineries of the Hill Country.  Another of the better-known landmarks in Texas, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, is located north of the city.  It is one of the largest batholiths in the nation.  Many people take interest in the bats at the Old Tunnel WMA.  Another destination for 350,000 annual visitors is Wildseed Farms with its lovely gardens.

Educational options in the city include the Fredericksburg Independent School District, Texas Tech University, Ambleside School of Fredericksburg,

Fredericksburg Christian School, Heritage School, and St. Mary's Elementary and Junior High School.  Governed by an elected mayor and four council members, citizens take an active role in the activities and not-to-be-missed events in the community, such as Oktoberfest.

Easily accessible near Interstate 10 and via the Gillespie County Airport, the thriving community welcomes new residents and visitors alike.
